I bought a postal envelope to send my cell phone back to Minnesota tomorrow, and so I'm officially phone-less for the forseeable future. It's a very strange feeling (thinking your phone is ringing and reaching to grab for it, but you don't have one.) It's also a very liberating feeing. As I explained to my friend with the Crackberry: how can you go and relate and connect to new friends in a new country if you are addicted to your phone and getting news from home? It's bad enough I spend so much time on the internet whilst traveling. I don't need to be texting all day too. Who knows what I might miss?
The next step in my twelve-step 'information junkie addiction' program will be to cut down on internet use. We'll see how that goes.
I don't know when I'll have internet again, so there may be no posts for a few days. Mom and Dad, this does not mean that I am kidnapped and in a moss-eaten-grave. That said, you should hear from me in about a week, and if not: call the Policia.
You are a brave and wise girl. You are going to have a great trip! I hope you get internet soon. Don't cut down on internet too much. I'd miss you.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm with Sarah on that...remember you're sustaining my vicarious life out there! I'm counting on you Kady! Be safe!!
