KD, I don't know how much time you have in Turkey, but Capadokkia (it is spelled in a hundred different ways) is a top 100 world heritage site that almost no one in america has ever heard of. It is like Middle Earth where people still live in rock spire homes cut out of the mountains. you should google pics of it, b/c it is amazing. It is a ten hour bus ride out of Istanbul, but three or four days there is perfect and will kind of blow your mind. don't miss this place! we spent a month in Turkey and covered half the country.
